Join us for live music and family fun on the longest day of the year! We'll have a jolly shaved ice cart serving up scoops outside the storefront for you and the kids! Celebrate music, community, and summer solstice. Make Music NY is a free festival where musicians of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are empowered to take center stage and share their skills and passions with public performances in outdoor plazas, parks, on street corners, and in partnership with cultural institutions and businesses across all five boroughs. Christine Sweeney is a bluesy indie pop musician who has been playing the Long Island music scene for ten years. With a voice as powerful as it is sultry and sweet, Christine deftly handles poppy and playful without sacrificing genuine emotion. Sometimes gritty, sometimes sugary vocals soar over her rhythmic guitar playing. Her band, Christine Sweeney and the Dirty Stayouts, is a fun five piece that elaborates on her personal style with notes of jazz and folk.
Ryan Parker is a passionate and versatile Park Slope music teacher and private instructor who has found himself singing Yellow Submarine with a classroom of kindergarteners, improvising rhythms over the blues with fifth graders, and conducting a contemporary classical work with a middle school string orchestra. As a performer, Ryan has played classical guitar, modern jazz classics, contemporary jazz, and various styles of rock on guitar, bass, and drums.
